How to choose

  1. Ask your broker first. Many brokerages already pay for BoldTrail, Lofty or another platform for their agents. Don't buy a second CRM you won't keep updated.
  2. Already have a website or buy portal leads? Follow Up Boss. It's built to take leads from any source, route them, and run action plans, with a price you can see before you call anyone.
  3. Want one login for your site, IDX search, CRM and marketing? Lofty or BoldTrail. Get a written quote and ask which AI features are add-ons.
  4. Want a site plus paid leads at a known monthly cost? Real Geeks. Budget the $399 platform, the $500 setup, and any lead package, and note the 6- or 12-month term.
  5. Mostly working your sphere, not online leads? A lighter relationship CRM like Cloze (76/100) may be all you need. See the full CRM rankings.

Use AI to plan a year of past-client follow-up

Whichever CRM you choose, it's only as good as the touches you load into it. Paste this into ChatGPT or Claude, then put the result into your CRM as an action plan or drip:

Create a 12-month past-client nurture plan: monthly touch type, message theme and a sample text for each month. Keep it non-salesy.

Review every message before it goes out, keep texting within consent and opt-out rules, and don't paste client personal data into AI tools (see our client privacy guide). This is general information, not legal advice.

FAQ

What is the best CRM for a solo real estate agent?

If you already have a website or buy leads from Zillow, Realtor.com or ads, Follow Up Boss is the simplest to start: public pricing ($69 per user a month on Grow), a free trial and no contract. If you want the website, IDX search and CRM in one login, look at Lofty or Real Geeks instead.

How much does Follow Up Boss cost?

Follow Up Boss lists Grow at $69 per user a month (yearly billing gets 2 months free, about $58 a month), with built-in calling as a $39 per user add-on. Pro is $499 a month and includes 10 users, with additional users at $49 a month. There is a free trial and no contracts.

How much does Lofty or BoldTrail cost?

Neither publishes prices. Lofty’s pricing page shows Request Pricing for its Agent, Team, Broker and Enterprise plans, and BoldTrail lists BASE, PLUS and PRO packages with quotes from sales. Many agents get BoldTrail or Lofty through their brokerage, so ask your broker first.

How much does Real Geeks cost?

Real Geeks lists its platform at $399 a month plus a $500 one-time setup fee on a 6- or 12-month term, with the first 2 users included. Paid ad lead packages, Geek AI Text ($49 a month, or included with a lead package) and IDX feeds ($10 per MLS board a month) are extra.

Can ChatGPT or Claude replace a real estate CRM?

No. AI chat tools can write your follow-up messages and nurture plans, but they do not store contacts, track deals, or send texts and emails on a schedule. Use the CRM as your system of record and AI to draft what goes into it. BoldTrail and Real Geeks also now connect to ChatGPT or Claude.
