We Tested It: One Sentence to a HeyGen Avatar Video with Grok Bot
The claim: connect HeyGen to Grok Bot, type one sentence, get a finished avatar video. We ran it once, end to end, for a realtor-style vertical Reel. Here's what happened.

What we tested
We wanted to know if one plain-English sentence could produce a post-ready avatar video for real estate agents with no filming and no editing app. We used Grok Bot with the HeyGen connector on HeyGen's free plan.
Steps
- Connect HeyGen to Grok Bot. We added the HeyGen connector to Grok Bot (free HeyGen plan).
- Pick the avatar. Grok Bot found Aaron's own HeyGen digital twin and its default voice.
- Send one sentence. It went to HeyGen's Video Agent in portrait 9:16:
- Wait. Grok Bot checked progress until the video was done, then downloaded the MP4.
Results
| Prompt to finished video | About 6 min 40 s (about 4 min of scripting, visuals, music and timeline, then about 2.5 min of rendering) |
| Output | 21.7 seconds, 720x1280 vertical (9:16) |
| Included | Script, visuals, music and captions (a captioned version and a caption file) |
| Plan and credits | HeyGen free plan; exact credit use was not reported |
| Script | HeyGen wrote it, adding its own hook and call to action; the core claims stayed on message |
Aaron's review
- Pronunciation: said "AgentAIStack.ai" perfectly.
- Lip sync: looked great.
- Vertical crop: looked good, even though the twin was trained on landscape footage.
We only report what we reviewed. Other quality points were not part of this review.
Caveat: review the script first
HeyGen writes its own opening and closing lines. Ours opened with "Realtors, are you overwhelmed by the explosion of new AI tools?" and closed with "Visit AgentAIStack.ai today and start working smarter!" Watch the whole video and check every claim before you post.
Tips for realtors
- Your twin, your consent. A digital twin needs your own consent and footage. Make one of yourself only.
- California AB 723. If the video shows AI-altered images of a listing, add a clear "digitally altered" disclosure and give access to the original photos. See our AB 723 checklist.
- Check your brokerage rules. Follow your brokerage and MLS advertising rules, and include your license number where required.
- Plan for about 7 minutes. It's hands-off, but not instant.

FAQ
Can one sentence really make a finished HeyGen avatar video?
In our test, yes. One sentence sent through Grok Bot with the HeyGen connector produced a finished 21.7-second vertical (720x1280) video with a script, visuals, music and captions. It took about 6 minutes 40 seconds from prompt to finished video.
Does HeyGen change the script?
Yes. HeyGen wrote the script from our one sentence and added its own opening hook and closing call to action. The core claims stayed on message, but always review the script before you post.
How many HeyGen credits did it use?
We used the HeyGen free plan. The connector did not report a credit balance before or after, so we cannot give an exact credit cost. Check your HeyGen billing page.
Can I use a digital twin of myself?
Yes, if you create it yourself. A HeyGen digital twin is built from your own footage and consent. Only make a twin of yourself, never of another person without their permission. Stock avatars work if you do not have a twin.
Do I need to disclose AI in a real estate video in California?
If the video shows digitally altered images of a listed property, California AB 723 (Business and Professions Code §10140.8, effective January 1, 2026) requires a reasonably conspicuous disclosure and access to the original images. Also follow your brokerage and MLS advertising rules, such as showing your license number.
